SABINA AHJ

Sabina Huseyn was born on 29 April 1974 in Baku. She graduated from Baku Secondary School No. 160. Her first professional qualification was as a draftsman-topographer, a choice connected in large part with her parents’ wish to see her pursue architecture. She graduated with honours.

In 1992 she continued her education in France at Université de Toulouse–Le Mirail, studying interior design for residential and commercial spaces.

In 1995 she moved with her family to the United Arab Emirates. Her children were born there in 1996, and in 1997 Sabina began working in Dubai at Ishtar Decoration, Al Naboodah Group. This period became her first professional experience in design and visual aesthetics.

By the end of the 1990s, her interest in fashion had defined the next direction of her career. In 1999 Sabina entered the South-Russian Humanitarian Institute in Rostov-on-Don to study fashion design, and in 2000 transferred to the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts, where she continued her education in garment construction.

From 2000, family life was connected simultaneously with two cities — Baku and Dubai. That same year marked Sabina Huseyn’s first public appearance as a fashion designer: finalists of the Metropolitan Top Model competition took the stage in pieces from her original collections.

The year 2000 became the starting point of Sabina Huseyn’s professional career in the fashion industry.
